  • Beschrijving: Mary (Aliki Vougiouklaki) is a poor but very pretty girl, also known as “the punching-bag” as she has no one to help or support her. She can’t seem to stay in any single job for very long because her bosses harass her. Desperate as she is, she goes as a a last resort to the shipowner Tzortzis Vengelis (Alekos Alexandrakis) and implores him to send her to Australia where an uncle of hers lives. Tzortzis is charmed by her brio and beauty and promises to help her. However, a series of coincidences prevent him from keeping his promise, and so the unfortunate girl is back on the street. Tzortzis, however, can’t get her out of his mind, so he looks for her and eventually finds her. Despite his parents’ objections, he escort her on a trip – not to Australia - but on their honeymoon.
